Inder Malhotra
Inder Malhotra was born in Chandigarh in 1930 and has been a journalist since 1949. He was chief political correspondent of the Statesman during the 1960s and was also the Guardian’s India correspondent from 1965 to 1978. After that, he was the editor of The Times of India, Delhi. He has broadcast regularly on BBC External Services and also on several Indian TV channels. He has to his credit widely acclaimed books such as India: Trapped in Uncertainty (1991) and Dynasties of India and Beyond: Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh (2003). He continues to write for various publications.
